A substantial increase in the size of BERNOULLI took effect from 1999. The journal is now published in 6 issues annually with a total of 1140 pages. The increase in the size of the journal has meant that the backlog has been reduced and will continue to decrease in the next year. A list with the accepted papers can be found at the homepage of BERNOULLI:

http://www.imf.au.dk/Statistics/Bernoulli/

Table 1 below shows how the papers in Volume 5 and Volume 6 issues 1-3 are divided roughly between the four categories of Applied Probability, Theoretical Probability, Applied Statistics, and Theoretical Statistics.

Number of papers in Vol. 5 and Vol. 6 issues 1-3
categorized according to subject area

Subject area Number of papers
Applied Probability 11
Theoretical Probability 20
Applied Statistics  9
Theoretical Statistics 34

There is a steady flow of high quality submissions and the Editorial Board continues to benefit greatly from excellent reports from the referees of the papers. This type of collaboration is crucial to ensure the quality of BERNOULLI.

The aim of BERNOULLI remains the provision of information, in terms of research articles, of all major developments in Statistics as well as Probability, or, otherwise put, in all of Stochastics.
