This issue of Bernoulli News includes an important document for Bernoulli Society life: the new proposed statutes are being presented for approval by the members, as you will read from the President's letter and from the subsequent pages.
In addition we report on a number of other initiatives of the society, such us the Outreach Program, outcome of committee's work and information on various meetings, many of them sponsored by the Society.
This issue also contains the second and final part of the article by Jef Teugels on the origins of the Society; the first part appeared in the previous issue of Bernoulli News. On a broadly related theme, a contribution by David Cox reminds us that in 2001 Biometrika is celebrating its centenary: long life to Biometrika!
