The latest news for the Stochastic Processes and their Applications (SPA)
conferences is the newly funded cooperative agreement between the Bernoulli
Society (BS) and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) to support IMS
Medallion lecturers at SPA conferences. At its January meeting, the IMS
Executive Committee decided to provide funding for (up to two) IMS Medallion
Lectures at the SPA meetings on a regular basis. The SPA meetings can provide an
attractive venue for select lectures and the reliable funding source should help
organisers of SPA conferences.
SPA30 ( www.pstat.ucsb.edu/projects/spa05
), organised by Raya Feldman, Jaya Bishwal, Guillaume Bonnet, and Janos
Englander, is on schedule to take place at the University of California at Santa
