Mir Masoom Ali, George and Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of Statistics at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, USA and a member of the Bernoulli Society was awarded a Gold Medal by the Islamic Countries Society of Statistical Sciences (ISOSS) for his outstanding contribution to statistics and ISOSS affairs during its Eighth Conference held in Lahore, Pakistan on December 19-22, 2005.
