The Bernoulli Society welcomes nominations for the first Wolfgang Doeblin Prize to be awarded in the 8th World Congress in Probability and Statistics in Istanbul, 2012. The Prize is to honour the scientific work of Wolfgang Doeblin. It will be awarded for outstanding work in the field of probability, to a single individual who is at the beginning of his or her mathematical career. See http://www.bernoulli-society.org/index.php/prizes/158 * BERNOULLI PRIZE FOR OUTSTANDING SURVEY ARTICLE IN PROBABILITY The Bernoulli Society has initiated a new prize to recognize an outstanding survey article in probability. The award is biennial, the first of which to be presented at the Bernoulli World Congress in the Summer of 2012. (Watch for later news about a companion biennial award in 2014 for mathematical statistics.)
